That is why we are born with a spirit of hope and are blessed with will power and a dogged determination, which in turn allows us to chase our dream. Catching it however, means boarding the TPP Express Train and finding a comfy seat because it can be an awfully long journey. The train has only three carriages called Time, Patience and Perseverance. Your ticket to success is on board this train and unless you have a coat of arrogance called self belief, you will end up catching the first bus home. However, if you have the bottle to ride out the journey you are in for surprise! You will see the unveiling of a very special plaque which identifies the real name of this bumpy old timer. The train is called the "Rolling Ritz" and let me tell you why. All passengers who manage to complete its entire journey are awarded with "The Stone of magination" as their departing gift. The rewards you can achieve with this stone make the price of the train fare seem like peanuts. The stone is a writer's dream because it can pot hole into the hidden chambers of the mind and sharpen up those areas that have lain dormant and need just a gentle stir. There are no ABC rules or formulas for writing lyrics and the sooner you get that out of your head the better. It is not a driving test; it is an adventure down the roads of your mind. I have my own Highway Code and it has no A-Z either. I design and build every road and decide how all traffic flows. The most important part is what fuel you use for the voices, because if your exhausts clank & clutter the AA or RAC will tow your lyrics to the scrap yard. Never ever forget that, because ears are your only judge & jury and tempo presses the accelerator. Songs are simply pictures which develop inside the mind and are coloured in by the brushes of imagination. These brushes cannot be bought or borrowed so you must manufacture your own. How? Our minds are a maze of production cells and therefore you must let your mind wander at will until if finds the exit point and marks the spot. Then it will never be afraid of getting bogged down in thought, because it can escape with an ease. This in turn slowly releases the chains which are restraining your patterns of thought and once these are freed, you will able to attack any emotion as if you are living its period as the learning process develops. You must also have some understanding of the world and its people embedded in your mind. Sunshine and kisses are not the order of the day for millions who share our planet and their world must always filter through your pen. Song writers come in two categories only. One is the quantity, which is the underlay and the other is the quality, which is the Red Carpet Brigade. The latter never wears out, because it is woven by the mind and cannot be taken up, only spring cleaned! There will be many times when your head feels clouded and your thought patterns feel as if they have all dried up. When that happens just read this page, because its penny will eventually drop. You won't hear it drop but you will notice the change, which I can guarantee! Never take the spelling or meaning of any one word for granted. If you see or read a word you are unfamiliar with then get the dictionary out and make note of its birthmark.
