A FOOL’S DARLING

There is a road inside our minds
Which bypasses our senses
And when we make a big mistake
We have walked that road of life's unwinds
And I've been oh such a fool, cos I fell over a love
Who stung my heart and lanced my foolish pride.

I fell for a fool's darling who bled my heart and laughed
As it turned to stone
She was the tipsy queen of pie-eyed palace
And bleeding drunken fools was her claim to throne.

There is escape from inside our minds
A road of hope which can cure
And I will never forget her words
Or her smile on that road of life's unwinds
She told me hope holds up Heaven
As her wings opened to their seams
So walk without fear on that road of hope
Let my shadows lighten your senses and let me fly seen.

I fell for a fool's darling who bled my heart and laughed
As it turned to stone
She was the tipsy queen of pie-eyed palace
And bleeding drunken fools was her claim to throne
I fell for a fool's darling
So sup-up boys and get yer'selves away home.

A fool's darling was written to toast and celebrate the life of George Best. I painted these roads on a canvass of love & care and asked the Lord to dip my brushes into His firmest petals of understanding.
